This week I split up the recording; hence the extended duration of the episode; an hour.</p> <p>The first half was recorded during my long run from the trails; I am running in <a mce_href="http://www.nps.gov/samo/planyourvisit/cheeseboropalocomado.htm" href="http://www.nps.gov/samo/planyourvisit/cheeseboropalocomado.htm">Cheeseboro Canyon</a> which is not too far from my house, as I click off my first twenty miler from this training plan, I discuss the merits of compression wear, specifically <a mce_href="http://www.cw-x.com/ss/products/mens/m_stabilyx_tights" href="http://www.cw-x.com/ss/products/mens/m_stabilyx_tights">CW-X three quarter</a> tights which I am a big fan of and how I was fortunate enough to get them at a bargain price from a <a href="http://www.steepandcheap.com/" mce_href="http://www.steepandcheap.com">steepandcheep.com</a>.</p> <p>Other affiliated sites include:</p> <p><a href="http://www.chainlove.com/" mce_href="http://www.chainlove.com">Chainlove</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.bonktown.com/" mce_href="http://www.bonktown.com">Bonktown</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.tramdock.com/" mce_href="http://www.tramdock.com">Tramdock</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.whiskeymilitia.com/" mce_href="http://www.whiskeymilitia.com">Whiskey Militia</a></p> <p>The second half was recorded earlier in the week and I talk about my stretching and foam rolling routine. This routine is based on my own experience only, but was provided to me by my physiotherapist when I had ITB problems. I have been proactively rolling out my ITB twice a day for the last four weeks and today I experienced no problems at all.</p> <p>You can pick up a foam roller from most running shops or from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/J-Fit-Foam-Roller-Hi-Density/dp/B0012LYQ4W" mce_href="http://www.amazon.com/J-Fit-Foam-Roller-Hi-Density/dp/B0012LYQ4W">Amazon</a> and this <a mce_href="http://www.anaerobic.net/runnersguide.html" href="http://www.anaerobic.net/runnersguide.html">website</a> shoes you some great exercises how to use it.</p> <p>You can look at the photos from the run <a href="http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee207/chasingmytail/Cheseboro%20Feb%2012%202009/?albumview=slideshow" mce_href="http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee207/chasingmytail/Cheseboro%20Feb%2012%202009/?albumview=slideshow">here.</a> </p>Stuarthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16841289199998319545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271382959252355081.post-27358134929991553172009-02-12T09:06:00.001-08:002009-02-12T09:06:30.728-08:00Episode 2: Running in the Rain<p>In this episode I spend nine miles in the pouring rain running through Santa Monica and Venice beach boardwalk; during the week I had run twice on the treadmill and ridden twice on the trainer so I was suffering from a mild case of cabin fever and come hell or high water I was going to run outside; I went for the high water option.</p> <p>I review my last week’s training progress and the ups and downs or doing doubles in a training plan and how that impacts and is impacted by work. I also discuss several of the products that I have been sent to review recently:</p> <p><a href="http://quadrathon.blogspot.com/2009/01/review-prowash-activewear-detergent.html">ProWash laundry detergent</a></p> <p><a href="http://quadrathon.blogspot.com/2009/01/review-mytach-gps-sport-trainer-pt1.html">MyTach GPS watch</a></p> <p>Unfortunately the rain went from bad to worse and so in an effort to save my new Liquid Squid microphone I had to stop and put it away, so the recording was cut roughly in half so this is a much shorter episode than I had hoped for! Oh well it’s a learning curve!</p> <p>I am having a few technical issues with iTunes so for now you can listen to it from this website or download the file and add it to your iTunes library manually, more info is available <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1473#2">here.</a> </p>Stuarthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16841289199998319545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271382959252355081.post-1406655012797978702009-02-04T13:00:00.000-08:002009-02-12T09:06:53.948-08:00Episode 1; IntroductionsIn this episode I introduce myself, hi, how are you?<br /><br />I talk a bit about my running background, the purpose for the podcast and what I have on my agenda for 2009.<br /><br />I also talk about my training plan for the first 4 months of the year.<br /><br />I should have mentioned that the intro and outro is from Dirty Devil by <a href="http://music.podshow.com/music/listeners/artistdetails.php?BandHash=4f4c854b423fff747621a4872c5dc7ed">The Outsiders</a>, you can check out their music on <a href="http://music.podshow.com/">Podsafe music network</a>.<br /><br />Here are links to some of the things I mentioned.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.leonadivide.com/">Leona Divide 50</a><br /><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.ac100.com">Angeles Crest 100</a><br /><a href="http://www.twinpeaks5050.com/">Twin Peaks 50</a><br /><a href="http://http//quadrathon.blogspot.com/2009/01/how-for-what.html">Spring 2009 Training plan</a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVycuBZ1ZGxI3kIVAKTdQo4mtkJBfoBdVrwWBru7yE4SUXhSUrc_vwt4jCvWXrHnmReBjphk2Lb3QEpdRcfSKgC2f_r7FnanTEWgprI4dpg1NOtdCKDa8S8qwsPuruQYMJhXe-xHUg9Bos/s1600-h/plan.png">Fall 2008 Training plan</a><br /><br />Some of the many podcasts I listen to:<br /><a href="http://steverunner.com/"><br />Phedippidations</a><br /><a href="http://ultradad.podbean.com/">Ultradad</a><br /><a href="http://www.runningpodcasts.org/?page_id=232">KelownGurl Tris</a><br /><a href="http://web.mac.com/mattatar/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html">Dump Runners Club</a><br /><br />There are many more to be found <a href="http://www.runningpodcasts.org/">here</a><br /><br />Thanks for listening...Stuarthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16841289199998319545noreply@blogger.com0
